Choosing a scooter for Perth riding
Start with how, where and how often you ride. Perth's long flat distances and generous shared paths usually mean range and comfort matter more than top speed.
For daily commutes across the flatter suburbs, the Kaabo Mantis 10 Plus V2 has the range and ride quality to handle longer stretches without you counting bars. If your route climbs into the foothills, the InMotion Climber is built for gradients that leave smaller motors struggling. Range and speed figures are estimates and depend on rider weight, terrain, wind and riding mode. Browse the full range of commuter electric scooters to compare.
Riding the Swan River and shared paths
Perth's Swan River paths are a genuine plus for scooter riders. Keep left, give way to pedestrians, use a bell and ease off the throttle on busy stretches near cafes and jetties. Larger wheels and suspension handle mixed surfaces more comfortably, which matters when you move from smooth path to older concrete. For weekend rides that stretch further, look at long range electric scooters.
Summer heat and battery care
Perth summers are hot, and lithium batteries prefer cooler conditions. Charge in the shade rather than a hot garage or car boot. Store the scooter out of direct sun and let it cool down before you plug it in after a ride. Expect range to sit at the lower end of manufacturer estimates on very hot days. These are care habits, not guarantees.
WA rules for e-scooters
WA has its own rules for private e-scooters covering where you can ride, helmet requirements and rider age. The rules have shifted in recent years, so check the current Western Australia Government or Department of Transport page for e-rideables before you ride. We won't quote figures here, because the official source is the one that matters.
Delivery across Perth and WA
If getting to the Balcatta store isn't practical, we offer free metro delivery across Perth and ship to regional Western Australia. Check the current Click and Collect options at checkout, as available collection locations may change.
