Hands-free navigation, ride tracking and a secure grip on every handlebar.

Do you really need a phone holder on your scooter?

If you use maps or a ride-tracking app, yes. With your phone mounted, you can follow the route without taking a hand off the bars. You can also check the scooter’s battery range or see an incoming call at a glance.

Most mounts attach to the handlebar, stem or bars with a silicone strap. Handlebar clamps suit most e-scooters and kick scooters, while stem mounts help when the controls leave little room. Silicone straps offer a quick, tool-free option for lighter phones and smoother rides.

Before choosing, look at the space around the controls and how much vibration comes through the bars. Kick scooters, e-scooters and e-bikes are built differently, so the same mount will not suit every model. Browse our phone holders alongside other scooter accessories, or send us your scooter model for help with compatibility.

How to get started

Filter the collection by your scooter type or brand to narrow the choice quickly. If you're not sure whether a mount fits your handlebars, message our team with your scooter model and we'll confirm compatibility before you buy.

How to pick the right mount for your ride

Your regular route will usually tell you what kind of mount you need.

Your scooter type gives you the clearest starting point. Kick scooters suit a compact silicone strap or small clamp mount. E-scooters create more vibration, especially on solid tyres, so a firmer clamp with rubber padding holds better. E-bikes work well with universal bike mounts and Quad Lock systems. Owners of compatible models can also use a dedicated Segway OEM phone mount, which usually gives the neatest fit.

Handlebar fit and clearance

Measure the handlebar diameter where the mount will sit. Most e-scooter bars measure between 22mm and 32mm, but compare your measurement with the mount’s listed fit range before buying. Outside that range, the clamp may sit loose or become overstretched. Check the space around your throttle, brake lever and display, as a bulky mount can crowd the controls or block the screen. Set the phone where you can read the screen comfortably without changing your grip or craning your neck.

Weather protection

For dry-weather riding, a standard mount and phone case should be enough. Year-round commuters should consider a waterproof phone holder with a rated IP score, sealed zips or a clear TPU cover that keeps water out while allowing touchscreen use. Water-resistant mounts handle drizzle but may not protect your phone in a downpour. Consider storage add-ons for commuters when building a wet-weather kit.

Grip and security

A silicone strap or single-arm clamp works well on smooth bike paths and flat urban routes. If your route includes kerbs or gravel, the extra vibration can shake a phone loose. A Quad Lock system or spring-loaded clamp with a secondary safety strap will hold it more securely. For added theft protection, a tool-required mount and phone tether are harder to remove than a quick-release system. Choose a grip that can handle the roughest part of your regular route.

Brands we stock and who they suit

Each brand does something different well. Here's an honest breakdown so you can self-select.

Brand Best for Mount type Weather Fits
GUB All-round riders wanting a reliable universal fit Universal handlebar clamp Water-resistant options Most e-scooters, kick scooters and bikes
Quad Lock Commuters and riders on rougher routes Dual-stage lock with phone-specific case Weatherproof poncho add-on available Bikes, motorcycles, most e-scooters
Segway Segway and Ninebot e-scooter owners OEM-fit mount Standard water resistance Compatible Segway/Ninebot models only, not kick scooters

If you ride a mixed setup or you're between brands, GUB is usually the safest starting point. Quad Lock is the pick for anyone who values a positive locked-in feel and rides in variable conditions. Segway's own accessory is the clean choice if your scooter was made for it.

Personal mobility device rules vary by state and territory. Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT and Western Australia set their own speed limits, legal riding areas, helmet requirements and phone-use rules. In some states, handling a phone while riding can result in fines.

A fixed handlebar mount keeps your phone visible and both hands on the bars, making it the safer hands-free setup. Check current PMD guidance from your state or territory transport authority, wear a helmet and follow posted speed limits. Our team can also help with compatibility and safe setup in-store or online.

Complete your commuter setup

A phone holder is one part of a full commuter kit. Pair it with a few essentials to cover every ride.

Good scooter locks let you leave your ride outside a café or at the station without worry. Match the lock to how and where you park.

A compact tyre pump keeps pressure right before every ride, which protects range and handling. Our tyre pumps include options that live in a backpack or clip to the frame.

For chargers, tools, a rain layer or a wallet, dedicated storage bags tuck neatly onto the stem or under the deck without unbalancing the ride.

Frequently asked, clearly answered

Will a phone holder fit my scooter handlebars?

Most universal mounts fit standard e-scooter and kick scooter handlebars. Measure the section where the mount will sit, as some bars taper, and check the available space around the throttle, brake lever and display. For unusual bars or stems, an OEM Segway mount or Quad Lock system may fit better. Send us your scooter model and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Is a waterproof phone holder worth it in Australia?

Yes, especially for year-round commuting. A waterproof phone holder with a rated IP score protects against sustained rain, while a water-resistant mount generally handles only splashes and drizzle. Always check the product’s IP rating rather than relying on marketing claims.

Quad Lock vs universal mount: which is better for scooters?

Quad Lock uses a phone-specific case and secure locking system, making it ideal for rough routes and longer commutes. Universal mounts like GUB fit various phones, cost less and are easier to swap between scooters. Choose based on your phone, budget and riding conditions.

Can I use a scooter phone holder on a bike or motorbike?

Often, yes, provided the handlebar diameter matches. Most GUB, universal and Quad Lock mounts work across scooters and bicycles. For motorbikes, choose a secure locking system such as Quad Lock with a vibration dampener, as higher speeds create more vibration.

Will it hold a large phone or one in a case?

Many universal mounts fit phones up to around 100mm wide, including most large phones in slim cases. Wallet cases, pop sockets and bulky covers may not fit. Quad Lock requires its own case. Measure your phone with its case and compare it with the mount’s specifications.

How do I install a handlebar phone mount?

Loosen the clamp, position the mount where it is visible without blocking controls, then tighten it evenly with an Allen key or by hand. Silicone strap mounts require no tools. Shake the mount firmly to check it will not rotate. Scooter Hut technicians can also fit it at any showroom.
