Scooter Hut Community Updates 

Thursday 16th of April | We have re-opened our stores…with care.

Scooter Hut took the decision in March to temporarily close our retail stores to protect our staff and our customers from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This gave us time to understand the situation, and how to follow best-practice before we were comfortable to re-open our stores.

With our re-opening, we are confident you will find our stores as welcoming as always. The friendly service, expert advice, and of course those low prices you have come to expect from Scooter Hut are all still there in abundance. In fact, other than the hand-sanitising desk at the front door, and the limit on the number of people permitted in each store at any given time, you probably won’t notice much of a difference from before.

We are handling every interaction with as much care as possible, and we believe you will find our stores to be amongst the most welcoming and safe retail store you are likely to walk into in the coming months.

If you prefer to shop from home, we are fulfilling all our online orders within 24hrs, so you can still make your purchase and receive your goods in a matter of days.

Wednesday 1st of April | Australia Post Update

Many countries have been affected by the coronavirus and are taking the necessary measures to help stop the spread. Because of these measures some countries are experiencing delays while others are temporally no longer accepting parcels into the country. 
 
Australia Post is no longer able to provide international delivery services to certain countries and will no longer accept any items for delivery to those countries. This is due to flight cancellations and/or border closures.

Monday 23rd March |  Shipping Updates

DOMESTIC: Australia Post today reiterated it remains fully operational across Australia during government restrictions on non-essential activity. Posties, delivery drivers and Post Offices will continue to operate. Customers can be assured they will continue to be able to send and receive parcels and mail.

INTERNATIONAL: Australia Post is experiencing international delivery delays due to the coronavirus COVID19. Australia Post is working with partner airlines and other postal operators to move items as quickly as possible.

Monday 23rd March |  Scooter Hut Retail Store Update

As of Monday 23rd of March all Scooter Hut retail stores are open and trading. The change that has been made today(23/3/2020) that there will be a maximum of 4 people in a store at one time, for the majority of our stores this will mean that there will be be two staff members and two customers only allowed inside a store at one time. We have made the decision to enforce this new rule in all of our Scooter Hut Stores to ensure we are doing all we can to make sure everyone healthy and safe. 

Friday 20th March | A Message From Our CEO 

Dear valued customer,

Whilst I’m sure you have far more important things to worry about than reading another coronavirus related message from yet another business, I just wanted to reach out to our customers to reassure you about what Scooter Hut is doing in these unusual times. 

As the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is evolving by the minute Scooter Hut wants to share with our valued community that we are constantly monitoring the situation to ensure that we are taking the best steps possible so that all our staff and customers are safe and healthy. 

ONLINE:

Our online store scooterhut.com.au is open and trading 24 hours 7 days a week and shipping orders globally. There are precautions being put into place by our shipping partners to deliver your orders quickly and safely and you are able to view these here. Our valued team in our distribution centre packing and sending all your orders are practising safe and healthy hygiene habits to minimize any risk to themselves and their families. This has meant having to work in smaller teams and on split shifts, so there is a chance your order may not be despatched quite as quickly as it normally would be, but we ask you to be patient, as our priority right now is the safety of our workers.

OUR STORES:

Our 7 retail stores across Australia remain open at this stage. The staff in our stores are practicing safe and healthy hygiene habits and we have put into place extra cleaning practices within our retail stores. We have advised our staff to thoroughly wash their hands immediately after each encounter with a customer, so please do not be offended when you see the nice friendly person who just served you rushing to the hand sanitizer dispenser to clean their hands. It’s not personal….but just a policy we have put in place to minimize the risk of passing the virus from person to person.

Whilst we are experiencing an increase in sales, as people switch to electric scooters instead of public transport, and with Easter holidays looming, please be rest-assured we have very healthy stock levels of most products, and do not foresee a shortage of products over the next few months.

Most importantly in all of this, is to please look after yourself and your loved ones. We all know about hand-washing and how to help prevent the virus spreading, but please don’t forget the value of making your loved ones laugh. Doing something fun is a key part of life, and it’s even more important when we are overwhelmed by bad news to give ourselves the opportunity to enjoy time with friends and family.
